some things about twitter that you need to khow

1. Set up your profile

The first thing you need to do is to set up that profile. See that bar on top of your twitter page? Click Settings and start filling up your profile. The notable areas in here are URL, bio, picture and design. Put up a link to your site or blog in here along with a brief description. Upload a picture to differentiate yourself from the others and then tweak your Twitter design. Like any other social networking site, it is important to completely express what you are or what you stand for in your profile.

2. Follow people with similar interests

Now that you have a profile, start following people. You can find these people in Twitter directories. I use Twellow and JustTweetIt. These sites can introduce you to Twitter users that have the same interest as yours. Follow these people and observe their tweets. You may also try following who these people follow but read up their descriptions and visit their blogs to make sure you’re still on the right niche. Being on the right niche will make it easy for you to build a community with a similar interest.

3. Get into the conversation

So now that you are following people, you will now see some tweets on your board. Read up on what the people your following are up to and reply if it interests you. For example, a person narrates how he is going to conduct a meeting. You may then reply with ideas. When someone asks a question, don’t hesitate to answer if you know it. Don’t be afraid to interact.

4. Don’t spam

Spam is the cause of many unfollows on Twitter. There is a character limit for a reason. Do not send repeated messages to people. Do not constantly direct message (DM) them with links.

5. Update daily

Alright so you’re blending in the community. Now update daily if possible. I know some Twitter users who unfollow because of inactivity. Reply to people and update people with what’s going on with your life. Soon you’ll be recognized and you’ll get some follows.

6. Find the latest buzz and contribute

Now it’s your time to contribute. Find a topic that will interest your niche and tweet it. Since you have established relationships with your followers (through replies), you will get more attention. It’s a nice strategy to always append “please retweet” at the end of your tweet. There will be some people who will be so interested that they will retweet. There are others who will reply to you about the link you tweeted. But you are not a “nobody” anymore. You are not just talking to yourself. People are now responding to your tweets.

7. Help other people out

The famous saying “Do unto others what you want others to do unto you” holds here. Before you can receive retweets, you must help others first by retweeting their messages. Help the people in your niche. One day you’ll be surprised on how eager they are to help you back.

8. Create relationships

Now it’s time to create constant connections. Soon you will find that some users are more active than others. You will get to talk with the same group of people at the same time every night. But don’t get bored. Interact with these people and create relationships. Ask how they are doing and try to touch on their interests.

9. Integrate Twitter with other social networks

Have a blog? Then post to Twitter when you have a post that will interest your niche. Have a Facebook profile? Then ask people to add you. Twitter is really a vital part of web 2.0. It can serve as the core. It can let you build relationships that can branch out to other social networks.

10. Establish relationships even outside Twitter

Have a lot of friends on Twitter? Then take it to another level. Ask for their messenger and talk to these people on a more intimate level. Call them through Skype or even arrange a meet-up. Twitter can create real relationships.

Congratulations! You are now an official member of the Twitter community. You talk, act, think and breathe like us. Perhaps you find yourself spending every five minutes updating Twitter on what you are doing. But I guess I’ll save Twitter addiction for next time.

WHAT IS RSS FEED?

If you read my post yesterday you will find out that i was very ecstatic about my being able to create the url of my rss feed. Don't blame me -i was almost frustrated from getting the fee active.

now i want to say one or two other things on rss feed. Things like 'what rss feed is' and 'how to be able to read it.

RSS feed is a way to syndicate the content of your blog for wider and easy access by your subscribers. OK, its , in its simplest XML file wthat carries the title of the site, date/time of posting, description and a link to the post. it is really simple syndication and a great resource for the user.

I think the next question is how to get access to read the file. The answer to this is to use a RSS READER. This is a software ,extention built into a browser that enable the subscriber to read the XML code as areadable information. what you do is to just go over to the reader and click on 'update' and the XML code will be deciphered into a readable form for you.

Before i stop in this post let me quickly state one advantage of RSS feed. It makes aaccessing blog post easy for the subscriber without having to log on to the blogs subscribed to one after the other. Thats for the subscriber and for the publisher, as i have stated earlier it means more visibility as it can lead to great increase in traffic to a site.

DID YOU FIND THIS POST INFORMATIVE OR INSIGHTFUL? DO YOU HAVE A QUESTION TO ASK OR COMMENT TO MAKE? PLEASE DO SO, IT WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED.

how to create rss url for your blog on blogger.

I had problems creating my rss feed url on my blogspot blog for days. i tried google search and couldnt make a headway. But then days later i was made to realize i had been living in the stone age as far as rss feed and reader are concerned. Why did i say that? well because creating the rss url for a blogspot blog is so easy.

well there might be other ways of creating it but what iam going to tell you is as simple as A-B-C believe me.

The answer is in the FEEDBURNER site.

just go over to their home page and sign in with your gmail accout info and then then type your blogspot url in the box with the tag ''Burn a feed right this instant'' and you will be required to choose the rss format you want wether atom feed or rss feed. Boy!!! i was ecstatic when i copied the rss url for my blog into ''my yahoo'' and my rss url was added as one of the rss feed.

The significance is that i can now increase traffic to my blog and share my insightful info with many people online as they subscribe to my rss feed.
the next thing i will do now is to sumit my feeds url to the various rss feed directories out there online . That means more visibility and more benefit in kind and cash.. there is a site that i know where i can get these directories. the site is www.masternewmedia.com just scroll down and in your right{in the middle or so} you till fing a link to 55 such directories-actually the real no is 250.

you can leave a comment below it will be apreciated tnks

Get Your FREE Forum Marketing & Traffic Generation Checklist

Do you want more traffic? …of course you do.

How about a way to get a ton more traffic right now… free… (okay, with a little effort).

In all my years marketing on the internet and having created more than 700 websites, more than 200 products having trained 10’s of thousands of people around the world in live audiences in leveraging the internet and on pace this year to do $26 million in business… I have yet to see a faster or more powerful free method (or paid) way of generating traffic than correctly doing forum marketing.

Some may argue the point with so many new social media channels available like Twitter.

However, the same three things that has driven successful forum marketing are the same three things today that drives all successful social media marketing… as you’ll see in a few seconds below.

Today’s Forum Marketing Checklist will give you some specific steps you can take.

What I’d like to do here is give you a brief summary of both the free way and the paid way to do effective marketing with forums.

However, before I do I think its important that you understand the underlining structure of what makes this method tick and work.

Be it Forums, Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, etc. They are channels. Nothing more, nothing less. What sustains these channels are the three primary drivers I’m about to give you so…

Write down and remember these three primary drivers.
Communities
Conversations
Content

These are the three primary drivers of the internet today.
Communities of people that gather in forums, on blogs etc.
The nature of the conversations they are having.
The content that is driving those conversations.

You, as a marketer must align yourself with these three drivers and come in as the “4th-C” if you expect to get any profitable traction.

This 4th-C is…
Contributor

You must come in and contribute something of value to the community, the conversation, the content …or ideally, all three.

You can easily go into any forum, right now, today for free and win if you do it correctly.

Here are 5 very general ways to make a contribution correctly to put you in a winning position with forum marketing.
Answer a question (intelligently)
Provide a link to a relevant & helpful resource (not your self promo stuff)
Provoke a new line of thinking (challenge certain assumptions)
Kiss butt (be agreeable)
Kick Butt (be disagreeable, respectfully and intelligently)

As for paid forum marketing.

This is simple. It rocks, the traffic rushes to your site and the conversions are crazy!

Here are 3 simple steps.
Compile a list of forums in your market (I have a list of over 200 forms for make money, mlm, work at home, internet marketing etc that I use)
Check to see if they have Google AdSense (or banner ads) above the fold.
If yes, then simply do Placement Targeting of your AdWords or Image ads on those forums.

Forums are some of the most active places on the internet. So when you find forums around your topic that have Google Ads on them, you can directly and specifically target ads to that forum to start sucking in traffic like a hoover vacuum.

Of all the places you can target paid ads, I have yet to find anything that beats an active forum in generating thousands of visitors for pennies on the dollar.

Now of course getting the traffic is one thing, you need to be able to convert the traffic into subscribers, buyers or whatever it is you’re looking for.

So make sure you have a conversion process in place to catch all of this targeted traffic.

With that said, here are 2 quick places you can use to start locating forums in your market.

more will come on this strategy be on the look out

EFFECTIVE BLOGGING 2

If you have read the first episode in this series i assume you are probably anxious for this episode.I in believe and have as an objective 'a better blogging experience for all that read the articles in this series. If you have been effective before i hope to help you become more efficient and if you haven't been as much successful then i will advice you read on and apply all that this series have to offer-you will be glad you did.

So let us proceed to the issues in this episode..

(4) RESEARCH  OTHER PROFESSIONAL BLOGS.

Effective blogging is not about inventing the wheel but all about copying it. To succeed you don't need to do more than the professional blogs in your niche just copy what they are doing and you will be getting better result than you get otherwise. The reason this so is because this point creates the impression of being professional with your visitors who are visitors to this other professional blogs. So what you copy from these sites are the layout, the theme that is used, topic letter case (usually upper case or all the fist letter of the word capitalized) the use of right graphics e.t.c

(5) DO NOT OVER MONETIZE YOUR BLOG.

Under this point think it is important you know that if you have a blog stached with a lot of banners and text ads for programs you are promoting like affiliate and pay per click your site might be perceived  as over-commercialized. i can bet with you that giving your visitors this kind of impression is not what you want at all

(6) LET YOUR BLOG COME ALIVE.

Here what you are expected to do is to make sure there are com ments on the thred on you blog. you can initiate this or get others to do this for you. if you want to do this just write your opinion on the article you have pasted and in that way visitors find it easier to make comments and they tend to come back you can get a friend to do this for you or pay some one to do this-on this point if you have paid for the first few post then you can just stop paying because at this stage the process as been started and so it is easier to get the desired action fron your subsequent visitors.

(7)JOIN FORUMS THAT ARE RELATED TO YOUR NICHE.

Forums are web applications in which people of common interest come to discuss issues and ideas of interest to the group or niche. you can benefit from forum by answering question members ask and welcoming new comers on the forum or other ways you use to help members because the they will want to check out your site or blog that you would have included in your signature. you could also learn new thins from members on the forum.

Well that is all for this episode in gthe next episode i will come with more points but apply these points where necessary and start living an effective blogging experience.

HOW TO BE EFFECTIVE AS A BLOGGER

The issues that surround blogging are many and varied, while some are related to the art of blogging others concer the bloggers. It is a fact that some bloggers are more effective that than others. The effective ones are glad that they are blogging while the uneffective ones will gladly trade places with the former. The question now is 'WHAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE?''

There are no actually no hard and fast rule on the difference between the two sides-the difference might be as varied as each individual blogger. However, there are common denominator and it should be noted that the uniqueness and originality of the individual will go a long way in giving him an edge in the long run.

so with that said i will devote a series to what makes blogging outcome thick for some and what might be the likely things the unsuccessful bloggers are doing. here are about four [4] points you need to note.

(1) YOUR BLOGNAME. The url of your blog is a very important factor to your online quest-information dissemination or monetisation by this point i mean wether the address of the blog is relevant to your niche or not. Before you create your blog research your niche market for keywords that are popular and not too competitive and then make sure it is included in you url.

(2) YOUR CONTENT!!! Make sure your post are related to your niche market and that they are current on the trend in your market. the last point is very important because your visitors will find your blog a good reference point as there always current information to learn. this will make your blog 'sticky' i.e they always want to come back for more.

(3)finally for this episode you must make sure you load your blog regularly. It might be daily or every 48 hours. Loading your blog regolarly will help your traffic generation from the search engines. if you load like 5 articles daily you will be amazed at the result you will be getting from your site.

That all for this episode i will be back with another in this series soon.
